A call came in from Stamford, CT about a baby woodchuck caught up in a baseball net. One we got there we saw the baby woodchuck struggling to get out of the net which was going across the back of the homeowners yard.
We were able to free the baby woodchuck by cutting the net around his neck and setting him free. He was completely unharmed in doing so, lucky because he was tangle up good and the net was very tightly wound around his neck.
Though a lot of homeowners have nets, such as baseball nets, and/or nets for soccer because kids play sports like this homeowners kids do, but in that case try and keep the netting up or stored away so innocent wildlife doesn’t get tangled inside,. Especially the babies because thy go out to explore and really don’t know any better.
